But the real gold for any fan of the 1997 million-selling album “Buena Vista Social Club” is the splendid solo albums released recently by members of the club, including Eliades Ochoa (“Sublime Illusion”) and Barbarito Torres (“Havana Cafe”). Best is Ibrahim Ferrer’s self-titled solo album, capped by a duet with Omara Portuondo on “Silencio.” This is haunting stuff.
