However, Pikachu isn’t the only adorable Electric-type Pokemon out there. Plenty of creatures within this category are the sort of Pokemon that players just want to hug, and would love to have as pets in real life. Their adorable designs and personalities make it easy to forget that they can deliver extreme damage with attacks like Thunder or Zap Cannon.
10 Mareep
Introduced in the Johto generation (i.e., Gen II), Mareep is the original sheep Pokemon. Being an electric sheep, their design is based on the sci-fi book, Do Androids Deam of Electric Sheep? Its design, though, is much more innocent than the book’s subject matter.

Mareep is so soft and cuddly looking that it actually got special attention in Pokemon merchandise. A life-sized plush can be bought at the real-life Pokemon Center store for the high price of about five hundred dollars.
9 Shinx
Pokemon based on feline creatures tend to be popular, and that is certainly true for Shinx. It was introduced in the fourth generation and resembles an adorable lion cub. Players fell in love with its unique color palette as well as its large ears, star-shaped tail, and tiny size with a big attitude.
What fans might not realize is that Shinx’s design is a little more related to a sphinx than an actual lion cub — hence the origin of its name. That is what gives it its larger ears and short face.
8 Pikachu
Of course, as the mascot of the Pokemon series, Pikachu is undeniably among the cutest of Electric-type Pokemon. Its design has subtly changed throughout the years — originally, Pikachu was much rounder and their tails had no gender difference.

Regardless, though, cuteness has always been at the forefront of its design. While rodents are not the most popular in real life, Pikachu’s rodent-inspired design still stole everyone’s hearts since it first appeared in the early 90s.
7 Joltik
How could an arachnid be so cute? Not everyone is a fan of bugs, but to many fans, Joltik is like if a puppy were a spider. Between its enormous blue eyes, fast movements, and tiny body, many players caught themselves feeling a lot of love for Joltik. It is actually tied for smallest Pokemon along with Flabebe, Cutiefly, Comfey, Sinistea, and Cosmoem.
While “tick” is in its name, Joltik also has similarities with a jumping spider due to its speedy nature and design. Despite the negatice associations with both spiders and ticks, plenty of fans want to pet this fluffy critter.
6 Flaaffy
Flaaffy has one of the best second-evolution designs out of a three-evolution Pokemon. Many second-evolution designs are a little awkward, but gamers are actually somewhat disappointed that Flaaffy is not a final evolution (even though Ampharos is also a great design).
Having evolved from Mareep, Flaaffy kept the cuteness in its first evolution and only got better by turning pink. It’s just as cute and cuddly as its prior evolution.
5 Plusle And Minun
This electric duo was introduced in the third generation. They are one of many electric rodents out there, who were inspired by Pikachu’s popularity. They are known as the “cheering Pokemon” which is adorable in itself outside of their designs.
The idea behind Plusle and Minun in itself is cute. Plusle stands for a positive electric charge and Minun for a negative one. Their respective abilities, Plus and Minus, allow them to amplify each other’s power on the battlefield.
4 Yamper
Yamper is one of the newest addition to the Electric-type roster, and is based on one of the cutest dog breeds, the corgi. It shares its category as the “Puppy Pokemon” with Rockruff, Growlithe, and Lillipup. However, it is unique in being the only Electric-type puppy.

A corgi-inspired Pokemon also fits well with the region Yamper is introduced in, as Galar is based on the United Kingdom. Originally bred to herd animals on English farms, corgis eventually became a favorite of English royalty.
3 Emolga
Another electric rodent, Emolga is based on a flying squirrel. Specifically, fans have theorized Emolga is based on the Japanese dwarf flying squirrel, which is one of the most adorable rodents on the planet.

2 Pichu
Pichu is what is known as a baby Pokemon, as it is the pre-evolved form of Pikachu. It looks a little similar, but is smaller in size with larger ears. It was introduced in Johto. Like most baby Pokemon, Pichu has very low base stats. However, the low stats did not discourage players for loving the little tyke.
Pichu even became popular enough to become playable in the Super Smash Bros. series. It is rumored that Pichu was actually game director Junichi Masuda’s favorite Pokemon for a while, before his new favorite became Victini.
1 Alolan Raichu
Regular Raichu is cute, but Alolan Raichu stole the hearts of players everywhere when the Pokemon Sun and Moon game out. It has all the design elements of a Raichu that were already great, but gets additional cuteness by having a less sharp-looking tail and ears. The Alolan variant even floats on the tail like a surfboard.
In addition to its looks, the lore behind Alolan Raichu’s design is adorable. Apparently, its change of color is a result of eating a ton of pancakes made from a secret recipe in Alola. Even its attacks are cute, dealing out star-shaped thunderbolts.
