"We hope to play them again in a BCS or playoff game at some point," Cook said.

The rivals no longer play in the same conference since A&M fled the Big 21 for the Southeastern Conference. It's difficult to wipe away their history, and there are no guarantees the Aggies and Longhorns will meet again.

Just not soon.

The schools' long game history is no more, and in recent years A&M was the turkey on the Longhorns' Thanksgiving menu. Texas leads 76–37–5 in a game series that began in 1894.
