Nothing is set in stone right now concerning the set actually being produced, but if the fan reaction to the Minecraft LEGO set is any indication, the Portal 2 LEGO set should have no trouble gaining the 10,000 votes (as of this writing the project currently has 5,460 votes with the number of increasing steadily) needed for LEGO to fully review the concept. LEGO even went so far as to issue a statement congratulating Team Jigsaw for reaching the halfway point of votes needed....

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said its violent crime investigation team responded to a shooting at 16600 block of Mystic Timber, Cypress, on Tuesday. The man was shot two times by an unknown assailant from his own backyard, hitting him in the chest. The victim’s wife then drove him to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to KHOU. Police said the victim is in stable condition with non-life-threatening wounds....

“There’s no reason why to open ourselves up to unnecessary death, unnecessary hospitalization, just for the sake of wanting to claim a premature victory,” Hidalgo told host Lisa Desjardins on the PBS NewsHour. Hidalgo added that less than one in 10 people over the age of 16 has been vaccinated in Harris County, where she serves. Harris includes Houston and is the third-largest county in the U.S. “It remains to be seen what folks do, but if history is any indication, we will see folks wearing masks less and less as the days go by,” Hidalgo said....

The latest information from Polk County Office of Emergency Management is that three people have died and between 20 and 30 people have been injured by the storms. Judge Sydney Murphy has issued a Declaration of Disaster in Polk County in response to yesterday’s storms as rescue efforts continue. In the meantime, residents are being asked to avoid the area in order to prevent traffic congestion, which officials say could hinder search and rescue operations, and shelter has been established for people affected by the storm in Dunbar Gymnasium in Livingston....

The South Fulton police told Newsweek on Sunday that the 5-year-old girl, Khalis Eberhart, died after being shot in the chest at The Gardens at Camp Creek Apartment Houses. She was later taken to the hospital as she was suffering from life-threatening injuries. The police said that the 3-year-old boy “located an unsecured firearm and fired the weapon, striking the victim.” The South Fulton police didn’t reveal any further details about the events that led up to the incident or how the gun was accessed....
